During running a SSRS report within a Report Viewer webpart that hosted in SharePoint page via Internet Explorer, I got the following error :

s.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null.

javascriptdiverror

Cause:

Cumulative Update package 4 for SQL Server 2008 R2 has not been installed.

Solution :

To overcome this issue, you should install a Cumulative Update package 4 for SQL Server 2008 R2 from here 2345451

Alternative workaround

Try to turn off the debug mode in Reporting Service Web.config file, by following the mentioned steps below :

  • Open Reporting Service Web.config file that located in
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10_50.SSRS\Reporting Services\
ReportServer

ssrswebconfigpath

  • Search for compilation tag > Set the debug property to false:

webconfigdebugfalse

  • Click Save
  • Try to browse your report that should be now working properly without raising the s.ArgumentNullException error.

Enjoy 🙂
