Couldn’t Find WebClient Service Within Services List on Windows Server 2012 R2 / Install Desktop Experience feature

When I tried to start “Webclient” service on Windows Server 2012 but unfortunately, I couldn’t find it in services list.


This problem usually occurs because of Desktop Experience feature was not installed.

Be aware that, Desktop Experience feature is not listed on features list As in the previous windows server 2008.


To install Desktop Experience feature on Windows Server 2012,you should follow the mentioned steps below :

  • Open Server Manager and from manage select Add Roles and Features.

  • From left side > Navigate directly to Features > below “User Interfaces and Infrastructure” > Check “Desktop Experience” > click Next.

  • Click Close

  • Restart the Server.
  • Go back to Services by click Run > Services.msc.


  • You could now find the WebClient Service.
