One or more code values in the lookup table either do not match the mask defined for the code or contain more than 255 characters

I got the following error,

The Lookup table could not be saved due to the following reasons:

One or more code values in the lookup table either do not match the mask defined for the code or contain more than 255 characters

edit lookuptable error

When I tried to create a lookup table by doing the following

  • PWA settings > Enterprise Custom field > Lookup Tables.

Create Custom fieldlookup tabel custom field

  • In my case, the lookup table have 2 levels

lookup table field 2 level

Cause

This problem usually occurs because of the code mask is by default defined for only one level, and to add another level you should at least define its code mask sequence field based on the mask of your level.

code mask one level

Solution:

In the same page, you should add a new code mask sequence level based on your level data type.In my case it’s string level data type.

Therefore, the code mask for two level  should looks like the following:

code mask

The Lookup table could be now saved properly.

Note : If you have more than two level you will need to define a code mask for each level.

Enjoy 🙂
