Get the corresponding SharePoint services name of an Application Pool Guid

I tried to reset the account that used to run the Project Server Service Application Pool because its password has already changed. Unfortunately, this is not automatically updated in the Application Pool and needs to be updated manually.

I looked for which application pool has used for Project Server service application that shown as GUID.

Application Pool List

In this hint, I will elaborate How to get the corresponding SharePoint services name of the Application Pool GUID by following the bit mentioned steps below:

  • Run SharePoint Management Shell as Administrator.

Run SharePoint Management Shell as Administrator

  • Run the following cmdlet this command

 Get-SPServiceApplicationPool | select Id, Name

  • Open IIS Manager > Application Pool > Match the application pool GUID with the cmdlet output to get the corresponding application pool name as shown below.

Get-SpServiceApplicationPool

  • You could now be able to get the corresponding SharePoint services name of an Application Pool Guid.

Enjoy 🙂
