What's the corresponding service name for each service GUID in IIS Manager


Scenario

When I have tried to find the Application Pool of a SharePoint Service Application like the Project Server Service Application Pool.

Unfortunately, when I checked the IIS Manager Application Pools, I found out

The Application Pools is displayed as GUID instead of the Service Name

So I can’t determine which Application Pool is the corresponding pool for the SharePoint Service Application!

What’s the corresponding service name for each service GUID in IIS Manager

Steps

  • Run SharePoint Management Shell as Administrator.

Run SharePoint Management Shell as Administrator

  • Run the below cmdlet.

Get-SPServiceApplicationPool | select Id, Name

  • Open IIS Manager > Application Pool.
  • Match the Application Pool GUID with the cmdlet output to get the corresponding Application Pool Service name as shown below.

The Application Pools is displayed as GUID instead as Service Name
